Blue Mountains Fitness Director and Principal Trainer Tony Williams is a fully qualified Personal Trainer, Gym Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor and Outdoor Recreation Instructor and Guide. He has been involved in the recreation and fitness industry in Australia since 1993 and has led an adventurous life – Tony is aware of the challenges we all face when it comes to personal fitness at any level whether starting out or taking on the ultimate challenge.
His passion has led him to pursue a rewarding career in the fitness industry. He has worked in the gym, health retreats, bootcamps, school camps and personal training environments with clients ranging from weight loss, elite athletes, school children, disabilities, youth at risk, sporting teams, corporate groups and normal everyday people trying to improve their fitness and general wellbeing.
Tony has played representative rugby union, was a successful mountaineer with expeditions to Alaska and Europe and rock climbed around the world including Australia, Europe, China, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. He has climbed the famous ‘Nose’ route on the big wall of El Capitan in Yosemite, California.

Tony has taken on many sporting challenges including Ultra Trail Mont Blanc 100 mile trail race, several North Face 100km trail races in The Blue Mountains, Ironman United Kingdom, Ironman WA and Ironman Melbourne (3.8km swim/180km bike/42km run), LeEtapu D’Tour cycle race in France (100km plus including the famous Alpe D’Huez and Col Du Galibier hill climbs), full marathons, ocean swimming races and many trail ultra-marathons. He has completed the Hawkesbury 111km kayak race twice and raced marathon mountain bike races including the ‘Wildside’ 4 day stage race.
Tony has recently qualified for the Australian Cross Triathlon Age Group Team for the World Championships in November 2018.
His Age Group category results include: 1st Over 50 North Face 50km 2015, 1st Over 50 Glow Worm Tunnel Marathon 2015, 1st Over 50 Hounslow SkyRun Ultra 2015 68km, 1st Overall Hounslow Classic 2015 “Double” (68k and 23k races combined), 2nd Over 50 Coastal Classic 2015, 2nd 50-54 Age Group Queensland Cross Triathlon 2016, 1st Tre-X Cross Triathlon National Series 2015/16 50-54 Age Group Champion, 1st Over 50 Buffalo 25k SkyRace and 5th Overall, 2nd Over 50 Ultra Trail Australia 50km 2016.
Tony is also a fully qualified Remote Area Rescue First Responder and has Advance First Aid qualifications. He was a firefighter for Fire Rescue New South Wales for 10 years and has in depth experience dealing with major and minor injuries.
He is a qualified High Ropes Course Instructor, Rock Climbing Instructor, Kayak Instructor, Canyoning Instructor, Vertical Rescue Instructor, Mountain Bike Guide, Caving Guide, Adventure Based Learning Facilitator and Rigger.
